The Danish Committee for Health Education (DCHE) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which
was founded in 1964. DHCE works within a broad scope of activities aimed at health promotion specifically
through communication and education.
DCHE has close working relations with public authorities like the Ministry of Health, the National Board of
Health and also private organizations in the health field. The membership organizations are primarily the
Danish health professional associations and the associations of municipalities and local health authorities.
Financed mainly by the public health authorities, DCHE develops and produces health promotion material on
all relevant themes and across a wide variety of target groups. Themes include child and maternity health,
alcohol & tobacco problems, chronic conditions, mental health, infectious disease, and more.
DCHE has worked extensively with patient empowerment during the last 10-15 years by gaining specific
expertise in developing, implementing and evaluating patient education, where the trainers consist of health
professionals as well as non-professional volunteers.
Komiteen for Sundhedsoplysning
Komiteen for Sundhedsoplysning er en non-profit privat forening og blev etableret i 1964.
Komiteen understøtter sundhedsvæsenets behandling af sygdomme, deltager aktivt i samfundets
sygdomsforebyggende og sundhedsfremmende arbejde, styrker patienter og pårørende, såvel individuelt
som kollektivt, i deres udfordringer med sygdomme og handicap og anvender forskning og viden om
sygdomsforebyggelse, befolkningens sygdomme, samfundets helbredelsesmuligheder og folkesundhed i det
brede spektrum.
Komiteens samarbejder både med offentlige og private organisationer på sundhedsområdet. Komiteen
udvikler og producerer sundhedsfremmende materiale om mange temaer og til forskellige målgrupper
herunder børne- og barselssundhed, alkohol- og tobaksproblemer, kroniske tilstande, mental sundhed,
infektionssygdomme osv.
Komiteen har arbejdet med patient empowerment i de sidste 10-15 år, og har ekspertise i at udvikle,
implementere og evaluere patientuddannelse, hvor undervisere består af sundhedspersonale såvel som
frivillige.
